Has TWI the facilities and skills to carry out reliability tests on polymeric materials and components?

TWI Frequently asked questions

by Sam Rostami

TWI has the facilities and skills to undertake investigations into the reliability of polymeric materials and components in industries such as electronics, medical, oil and gas, construction and transportation. The main purpose of this resource is to understand and minimise component failures in service.

TWI undertakes temperature/humidity/stress cyclic tests from -20 to +400°C. It can also carry out combined stress-failure analysis in a chemical medium.

In addition, TWI has the necessary expertise in polymers, adhesives, encapsulants, ceramics, metals and materials interfaces to undertake research on reliability and projects on service-life prediction in these topics. TWI works with national and international organisations to complement its in-house expertise and facilities.
