Background

Computer techniques are described for the analysis of static high voltage stresses in electron beam welding guns and EHT tank cable terminations. A simple multiple dielectric parallel plate capacitor test problem is used to assess computation accuracy. Examples of cable termination equipotential plots are presented for prototype and advanced 75kW column designs.
