Background

Basic fatigue data has been produced for joints fabricated by submerged arc welding and by using flux-cored wire. Data has also been derived for joints welded from sheet material and for beams with either cope holes or intermittent welds. In all cases the fatigue strengths are found to be within the scatter band normally associated with the type of joint tested.
